Osteopathic Manual Practitioner
B.h.Sc., B.App.Sc (Osteo)
Yuma completed his double bachelor’s degree in Osteopathy at RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia. During his education, he started a mentorship program and gained valuable experience working in a busy multi-disciplinary osteopathy/pilates-based clinic in his hometown. His work there sparked a further interest in rehabilitation within the sports setting, particularly with Australian football, lacrosse, and tennis athletes, sports he also engaged in. After several years, Yuma sought a new challenge and moved to Toronto in 2019 for international exposure.
In Ontario, where osteopathy is a young profession and somewhat unfamiliar to many, Yuma’s passion for demonstrating and teaching the potential benefits of osteopathy for overall health has grown. His treatment and management approach utilizes a structural form of osteopathy/manual treatment, employing various techniques such as joint articulation, muscle energy, soft tissue massage, and dry needling. These methods address various ailments, and his further interest in exercise rehab provides him with the knowledge to apply at-home management strategies. This ensures clients can maintain improvement in symptoms outside the treatment room.
Yuma specializes in treating headaches and vestibular disorders, neck and shoulder complaints, and lower extremity injuries, including sports and exercise-induced by training load errors and poor biomechanics. His sporting background includes playing Australian Football in Ontario, running, swimming, snowboarding, camping, and travelling the world.
