Susie Tucker

Specialty: Massage Therapist

Location(s): Totum Rosedale

After graduating from Mount Allison University, Susie travelled extensively, living and working abroad as a chef and divemaster, before returning to Toronto to pursue her combined interest in sports and manual therapy. Susie studied kinesiology at York University, and graduated with honours from Sutherland-Chan School of Massage Therapy in 2010. Susie is also a Certified Equine Massage Therapist.

As a former athlete herself, Susie understands the demands sport places on the body and the dedication athletes have to their sport, and to keeping their minds and bodies fit. She has experience treating athletes of all levels, from the weekend warrior to the professional, as well as elite juniors and young children covering a wide variety of sports.

Susie uses a functional approach in treating orthopaedic and sport-related injuries. Her approach involves not only focusing on the area of pain, but also understanding where the dysfunction originates and treating the body as a whole. She uses prescriptive exercise and education to enhance the rehabilitative process and help patients to understand why they are experiencing their symptoms and to prevent injury in the future.

Susie is a member of both the CMTO and RMTAO, and is currently working towards her Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) designation. In her spare time, Susie continues to play hockey locally and internationally, and enjoys snowboarding, and hiking with her dog.
