Abigail Hatanaka- Totum Life Science

Specialty: Personal Trainer

Location(s): Totum Rosedale

Abigail’s fascination with human kinetics couldn’t help but develop as she grew up in a family of high-performance athletes. She became keenly aware of the importance of training to handle the functional demands imposed by work, life and sport and bridging the gap between injury and performance. This led her to pursue a Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of Toronto, where she was an athletic therapist for the Varsity Blue’s Hockey and Track & Field team. Upon graduating, Abigail became a Registered Kinesiologist, specializing in musculoskeletal assessment, strength and endurance training, and hydrotherapy.
More recently, Abigail moved to Australia to complete a Master of Physiotherapy Studies from the University of Queensland, ranked 2nd in the world in Sport and Exercise Science. She also became a certified Hydrotherapist in chronic disease management, developing evidence-based rehab programs for individuals with acute and chronic orthopedic injuries and neurological impairments. Abigail has a particular interest in geriatric fall prevention and management, with diverse experience in inpatient and outpatient settings.

Abigail integrates her clinical skill set and knowledge of human movement to design targeted rehabilitation programs that align with the client’s functional goals.
