Phil obtained certification under the NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association) as a CSCS (Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist). In striving for excellence, he pursued more advanced study at the Chek Institute in California. Here, Phil received certifications as a Practitioner (Level IV), Holistic Lifestyle Coach (Level III), and a Golf Performance Specialist.

Phil continued to attend conferences and private seminars receiving various certifications in SomaTraining (Dr. Guy Voyer), Active Release Techniques (Dr. Michael Leahy), BioSignature (Charles Poloquin) and Periodization (Tudor Bompa). Phil was also certified in performance specific certifications with CrossFit as a CPC Coach. In addition, he holds the following CrossFit Specialty Certifications: CrossFit Kids, Olympic Lifting (Mike Burgener), Power-lifting (Louise Simmons), Nutrition (Robb Wolf), Gymnastics (Jeff Tucker), Endurance (Brian Mackenzie), and Mobility (Dr. Roop Sihota).
